The Coaches are task saturated and parents end up coaching ...diludes the training effectiveness and creates drama. As a 10 year College and HS coach...getting a private 1 on 1 Coach is probably better suited if you want that consistent effectiveness in perfecting your craft, especially in basketball.

Worst place to allow your kids to play. We don’t care if our kids win or lose we want them to get the experience to progress their game. Now when the owner does nothing about refs being unfair on both sides, Kids end up getting hurt left and right from obvious fouls that should have been called that are not being called. Fights breaking out between 2 teams where head coach needed an ambulance which should have been prevented by refs that should have been calling penalties but act oblivious. It’s not like these kids are playing street ball. Spoke with I guess the director that if the refs do not care about the safe of all kids I will not have my son return to play I would rather go elsewhere. Yet nothing was done. Again kids getting hurt my son included, getting elbowed in the back of his head and was looked passed. They don’t care about anyone’s safety there. When something arises director is no where to be found. Time keeper adding imaginary points for opposing teams and not fixing error's with scores. I get that something might be missed here and there but when opposing team commit fouls in the refs face they don’t call them on it. What kind of message are you sending to these kids?? Spend your money where safety will be #1 priority!! Like the director said “it’s just a game and it’s for the kids” well make sure your refs who are overseeing the games can be fair for all teams that way kids can go home injury free especially if it could have been prevented. These leagues are created to build sportsmanship, to allow kids to develop, and encourage kids to just have fun amongst other benefits. When teams get into physical fights both teams should not be allowed back for remainder of the season to show that such behavior is not tolerated. But nope! Another reason to not trust just anyone with your kids. Overall horrible refs, director, and place altogether. Either do right by each team who is paying you to do right not only by them but for all teams or find a new occupation and let someone who has the passion to make sure everyone is getting treated equally. If I could give negative stars I would. GET IT TOGETHER!

I love it, even though most refs are biased hella times, the coaches are so good at what they do. Yes, they scream but 4 the good of the kids and their learning.

UPDATE** It’s overall a good basketball gym, they recently added ventilation which was one of the biggest problems. Courts are good considering that is not hardwood, a little slippery but not that much. The gym is in good conditions. The following statements is not a complain about the gym since there is nothing wrong with the place, the owner is constantly trying to make it a better place; you can tell since he reads and replies the reviews. My complain is directed to the organizers and administration of the weekend tournament (CYDSL), specially Joe Paterson (express academy).** The administration of the tournament racially targeted our team because of being Mexican. It is important to say that during the whole tournament we never seen a team being punished the way they did with us today. They made us start 14 points down and with 4 minutes left of the first half. The refs told us they couldn't do a thing about it, that it was "Joe" rules. They told us that "Joe", an administrator told them to do so because we were late. The messed up thing about it is that we weren't late, and this "Joe" wasn't even there to discuss it. I think I never played a game that was rigged or fixed, and I don't have a clue about today's game being rigged. I guess they can't have a Mexican team win it all. It's a shame that they pull stuff like this to eliminate us. Only lost by one point, even though they robbed us.
