I really wanted to like High Point Tennis Center, but after several visits in the evenings, I’ve had enough. In my experience, the evening staff is unnecessarily rude and confrontational. Instead of helping players enjoy their time on the court, they seem more interested in policing people selectively. I’ve personally seen them single out certain players for “policy violations” while ignoring others doing the same thing, which feels inconsistent and unfair. What makes it more frustrating is that this is a City of Plano–owned facility, yet it feels like all they care about is profit rather than community access. After paying for court time, you’d expect to be treated with respect—and if a court is sitting empty, most places would just let players finish their game. Instead, staff here seem eager to lecture and argue with paying customers instead of using common sense. To make matters worse, no other facilities nearby behave like this. Courts of McKinney, Fretz Recreation Center, and others treat players fairly and never hassle people over unused courts or nitpick their policies. High Point is the only place where this has been an issue. This could be an amazing community resource, but the disrespectful attitude from certain evening staff members drags the whole place down. I hope management takes customer service seriously—and soon.

The place is pretty and the tennis courts are amazing. But if you’re looking for any help inside, do not go to the Asian guy. I went inside on Saturday, March 21 at 7:30 PM. Asking for help about racket size, different selection and string recommendations. This guy would NOT help us at all. His answer for everything from behind the desk was it’s whatever you like. He recommended we just pick whichever is pretty since my children weren’t true advanced players Even when I asked him to show us rackets, he could not be bothered to stand up and/or show us anything. Even when I asked for somebody else, his response was well you’re just lucky. I’m here because anybody else would just tell you there’s nothing I can show you or help you with. Since I’m the Tennis pro here. But for being “the” Tennis guy, he sure could not be bothered to get up and actually show us or help us with anything. After no longer wanting to deal with his arrogance, we decided to go shop elsewhere. We left and purchased two brand new Babolot rackets with strings spending a total of $800 at Frisco tennis and stringing. OMG, almost total opposite experience. Super helpful, they helped me find the perfect rackets for my children and also recommended multiple strings, and found the one that works best for them. This will be a perfect lead into high school varsity tennis

Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Management – Members Are Treated With Disrespect I have never experienced such consistently unprofessional and dishonest behavior from a sports facility. Our group has been playing pickleball at High Point Tennis & Pickleball in Plano for a long time, and the situation has only gotten worse. The core problem is not the facility—it’s the front desk staff and management, who seem more interested in going home early than honoring their own policies or respecting paying members. The facility advertises that it is open until 10:00 PM, yet whenever there are only one or two court reservations late in the evening, the staff suddenly invents rules to force players out early. We’ve been told, “We don’t allow just one reservation until 10,” even when the court was properly reserved until that time. This rule does not exist anywhere on their website or in written policy—it’s simply made up on the spot for convenience. Even worse, the club promotes “unlimited play” for members who pay a full annual fee. However, recently the staff has begun enforcing a 90-minute limit per day, kicking members off the court mid-reservation. I’ve personally witnessed front desk employees walking onto courts to remove players after 90 minutes, without being able to explain why this directly contradicts what the website clearly states. If you advertise unlimited play and then arbitrarily enforce time limits, that is misleading at best and dishonest at worst. Weather is used as another excuse. On multiple occasions, after just a few drops of rain—and once the rain had already stopped—the staff immediately shut down the facility and forced everyone to leave “for safety reasons.” This felt less like genuine concern and more like an excuse to close early and avoid staying until the posted closing time. No consistent standards, no transparency—just abrupt shutdowns. The overall attitude is hostile and dismissive. Instead of supporting members, the staff often appears antagonistic, impatient, and unwilling to explain policies because there is no consistent policy. This creates a chaotic and frustrating environment where members never know whether their paid reservations will be honored. High Point charges premium prices but delivers unreliable service, shifting rules, and disrespectful treatment. Management urgently needs to step in, retrain staff, and enforce clear, written, consistently applied policies. Until that happens, I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values professionalism, transparency, or basic respect for paying members.

I’ve been a member of this club for a while, and while the facilities are generally nice, it’s becoming increasingly frustrating to use them. There are plenty of tennis courts that often sit empty, but only 8 pickleball courts — and they’re almost always full. Lately, it’s been very difficult to reserve a pickleball court online because the club schedules so many paid classes and events in the evenings. As a paying member, I expect to have reasonable access to the courts, but it feels like members are being pushed aside in favor of revenue-generating programs. It’s disappointing to pay for a membership and still struggle to find an open time to play. I really hope the club reconsiders its scheduling and adds more pickleball courts or gives members better access.

One of the most humiliating experiences I’ve ever had at a public facility — and it happened at High Point Tennis Center. I walked in, paid my court fee, checked in properly with one of the two male employees, and headed to my court like anyone would. Minutes later, the other employee stormed over and flat-out accused me of not paying. No checking the system, no confirming with the front desk — just immediate blame. The worst part? That same staff member had been sitting in the bathroom scrolling on his phone right after I checked in. So instead of doing his job, he was completely disengaged — then came out and decided to single me out in front of others. Out of every player who checked in at that time, I was the ONLY one he confronted. No explanation, no professionalism, just rudeness and attitude, as if I was trying to cheat the system when I had literally just paid. I left feeling humiliated, offended, and disgusted. No apologies were issued that night. I’ve never been treated like this anywhere else. It was unnecessary, unprovoked, and completely disrespectful. If this is how High Point staffs its evening shifts — who attack customers first and think later — then they have no business running a public facility. This one incident was more than enough to make me think twice about ever setting foot here again.
